Intraoral Camera

Intraoral photos on chairside computer

An intraoral camera is a small device that broadcasts images of your teeth and gums that both the patient and dentist can see. Instantaneously, these high-resolution images are sent to a computer screen so that you and your doctor can review your oral health together. This wonderful, new technology allows you to relax in your chair while simultaneously observing a real-time movie of the inside of your mouth, which will be magnified beyond normal size on an adjacent computer monitor. Not only does this make it simple for your doctor to see and understand what is happening in your mouth, but it also makes it simple for us to keep incredibly accurate records from one visit to the next.

The intraoral technology provides X-rays at a much lower dose, delivering up to 60-80% less radiation than standard X-rays. These cameras not only increase dentist-patient communication, but they can also aid in insurance claim reimbursement by including color images along with traditional radiographs.
